BEST stands for Business & Education Succeed Together.
We focus on helping young people gain a better understanding of their skills and ambitions, by providing extra support for them through a variety of education-business link initiatives.
In partnership with employers, we offer valuable experiences that support the personal development of students, teachers and education support staff.
Our aim is to improve skills within the existing and future workforce and to improve the links between education and business - for the benefit of all involved.
Community Volunteers
As well as business volunteers we also work with volunteers from the wider community, including students from Further Education and Higher Education. This work is supported by our strong links with voluntary sector organisations including Community Service Volunteer (CSV) branches in Manchester, Trafford and Stockport, along with Community Exchange. This is especially relevant as 2005 was designated as the 'Year of the Volunteer', a joint initiative between CSV and the Home Office. Year of the Volunteer (YOV) was aimed at increasing opportunities for volunteering and to encourage more people to devote more time to their communities.
