Careers Fairs
Careers Fairs are aimed at students in their last two years at secondary school (Years 10 and 11) and are designed to highlight the choice of careers and post-16 opportunities available to them.
Employers, colleges, training providers and universities attend the Careers Fair - either at the school or an external conference venue - and students are encouraged to consider potential career choices before the event and then to meet representatives from the relevant organisations.
Benefits:
- Talking directly with employers and other providers about career paths and post-16 routes
- Encouraging students to continue in education and training at post-16
- Gaining an understanding of how school subjects relate to the workplace
- Improving students' communication skills and self-confidence
- Providing recruitment opportunities for organisations
- Improving links between organisations and the local community
- Influencing the ambitions and aspirations of the future workforce
- Promoting the personal development of employees
- Increasing understanding of initiatives taking place in schools
- Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies
