M Power Plus

A young person on M Power Plus

M Power Plus is a two year, day release programme for young people aged 14-16 (Years 10 and 11), undertaking a vocational programme related to NVQs or similar qualifications. M Power students follow a range of studies such as building, catering, motor vehicle maintenance, childcare and hairdressing for one day each week, with the remaining days spent in school.

The programme is managed by BEST and delivered by training providers and colleges of Further Education. With the support of BEST and training providers, local employers provide work placements for pupils on a voluntary basis, enabling them to gain their qualification in a realistic work environment.
