Practice Interviews

Practice Interviews aim to motivate students and develop their interview and communication skills. The programme gives students the chance to meet employers, discuss ideas and gain an insight into the selection process in their future training and career.

Normally held in school and occasionally at an employer's premises, each interview lasts 20-30 minutes and is followed by written and verbal feedback that encourages students to examine their own achievements and improve their future performance.

Benefits:

  • Gaining confidence in meeting employers
  • Learning more about students' personal strengths and weaknesses
  • Discovering more about the world of work and post-16 routes
  • Influencing careers teachers and informing them of job prospects
  • Improving links between organisations and the local community
  • Influencing the ambitions and aspirations of the future workforce
  • Promoting the personal development of employees
  • Increasing understanding of initiatives taking place in schools
  • Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies
